FreqLoader: Launched
FreqLoader, a project I've been working on for a few months now, has finally been approved by the Apple App store reviewers and is now available! Huzzah!
What is FreqLoader? It's a mobile (iPhone/iPod touch) application designed with amateur radio operators ("hams"), monitoring enthusiasts and shortwave listeners in mind.
I think it's pretty cool in two ways. First, if you're into radio in any way, it's a great way to keep track of stations/logs and other stuff while you're on the go.
When you've got an iPhone, or a connection to the 'net via Wi-Fi, it really shines. You can use the on-board location stuff to find yourself or others on maps, and access the Connector to hookup with friends or strangers and exchange information, send messages, do callbook searches and a bunch of other stuff.
So if you're into the airwaves, and have an iPod touch or iPhone (or were thinking of getting one), check it out and let me know what you think!
