Learning to play music, whether it's the guitar, drums or something else, is now a whole lot more fun and easy thanks to TrollDrum.

What is TrollDrum? It's a mobile (iPhone/iPod touch) application created to allow musicians to practice their instrument along with the actual drum track of the tune their learning, rather than a boring metronome.

You can adjust the tempo of the song to your liking, and focus your practice on specific segments by using segment loops. The main advantages are that you learn the part with the actual drum track, so your training your brain right from the start, and it acts like a smart metronome with changes in tempo in the song actually happening by themselves. Also, once you've got the part down, it sure sounds a whole lot better.

I also play the drums a bit, and have found that following along with a, greatly slowed down, drummer makes learning easier and more fun.
